The angular design of Tampica dark furniture, the prominent use of mitred joints and the rich dark chestnut colour of this living and dining range make it one of the most successful collections on sale in Ireland in the last 5 years. Online, this furniture looks very similar in appearance to the Dakota furniture on our website but there are similarities and marked differences. The similarity is in the design and the dark colouring. That said, the Tampica is a much redder colour than the Dakota living room furniture that is dark brown with some reddish tones. Up close though, the ranges are very different with the solid Dakota wood range having a more rustic finish that reveals the character of the mango wood from which it is made, and the Tampica having a far more uniform and refined finish that is achieved through the use of carefully selected veneers. The very different looks of the ranges reveal their very different origins; Dakota is handmade furniture whereas Tampica is a range of furniture made in a large factory by machines. In summary, these are both very nice ranges of dark wood furniture but only you can decide which is suited to you. Perhaps it really boils down to where you live, with the Tampica furniture being undoubtedly more at home in a contemporary setting and the Dakota dark living room furniture being at home in either modern or older style properties.
